## Begin inside WeChat

Install the official WeChat app and sign in with a number you can continue to use during your journey. Messaging access and payment readiness are separate things: being able to chat does not establish that your wallet is ready to pay.

Find the payment or wallet area offered by your version of the app. Names and placement can differ by region. Follow its own identity and security prompts rather than instructions from an unsolicited message. Keep identity documents and verification codes out of this website.

## Check the funding method before the QR

Tencent describes support for international bank cards in Weixin Pay. Add your intended card in the app, then check whether setup has finished or whether another step is requested. Your issuer may also need you to approve the link.

Before travel, make sure you can open the bank app and receive any messages it uses. Do not mistake a card displayed in the wallet for a guarantee that every recipient will accept that funding method.

## Make the first scan deliberately

Open the receiving image on a second screen, or save it and select it through the scanner’s album option when available. A successful scan should take you to a screen where you can inspect the recipient and payment details.

If you choose this site’s optional donation, start with an amount you want to give. Compare the recipient, CNY amount, selected card and any fee with your intention. Cancel if they do not match. Reading the instructions never requires a payment.

## Read the result before leaving the app

After confirmation, use the transaction record inside WeChat to establish whether the payment completed, failed or remains pending. This website cannot see that result. Avoid submitting another payment while the first one is unclear.

A completed donation is evidence about that transaction. Keep a separate plan for merchant purchases and a backup method for situations where your phone, connection or selected card is unavailable.
